Summer is gone. That means that before you know it, it will be Thanksgiving and then the holidays. Here are for tips to stop those love handles from developing over the next few months.

#1. Hold your alcohol

Avoid binging on alcohol. To keep you from doing so, have a glass of water besides that wine or champagne. Alternate between the alcohol drinks and water.

Alcohol packs seven calories per gram. So imagine how many calories you’re intaking if you drink a couple of beers?

#2. Hydrate your body with water

Forget about juice, sodas, and other sugary drinks. Water is your best friend when it comes to hydration. If you hate water like some of my buddies, flavor it with fresh fruits or make yourself an iced cold tea (with little to no sugar).

#3. Move!

Go out and enjoy the beautiful fall sunshine, crisp air, and outdoor activities. Whatever you do: don’t stay locked up at home (no matter how comfortable it is).

#4. Eat your veggies

Balanced meals are the last thing on anyone’s mind. So let’s try to simplify this: make sure you have a portion of vegetables at every meal. Vegetables are loaded with fiber and low in calories, making them the perfect buffer to stop you from over-eating. Avoid dousing your salads with a high-calorie dressing.
